Ourika Valley / Setti-Fatma

The most popular excursion in the High Atlas is without doubt to the Ourika Valley. After crossing a grim landscape, there are impressive views of the Atlas, whose summits suddenly appear to the visitor’s eyes. At the end of the valley lies Setti-Fatma, a very attractive and picturesquely village.

Asni Berber village

We would also recommend a trip to the Berber village Asni, only 48 kilometres from Marrakech. It lies at a height of 1,150 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the peaks of the Grand Atlas, which at the summit of Toubkal reaches a maximum of 4,167 metres. Asni has an interesting Kasbah.

Oukaimeden

In the same direction like Ourika valley, 77 kilometres from Marrakech and at a height of 2,650 metres above sea level, there is the ski resort of Oukaimeden, where winter sports may be practised for several months of the year thanks to its perfectly equipped ski runs. Ski rental possible (old staff!)

Essaouira

The city of Essaouira appears as if by magic, surrounded by water, sand and flora, white and shining, its attractive silhouette standing between the sea and the dunes of the desert. There are many lovely gardens within the city, forming areas of delicious coolness. The outstanding monuments here are the Porte de la Marine, the Sqala in the Kasbah and the sanctuary of Moulay Abd el-Kader el Jilali. There is also a splendid beach at Essaouira with fine sand. The excursion to Essaouira is a taff trip for one day.
